Climate of Pakistan

Pakistan as a whole is located in a warm temperate zone. It lies approximately between 24 degrees north latitude and 37 degrees north latitude. Pakistan is known for hot summers and cold weather, with many areas having a semi-arid and arid climate and a small area in the north experiencing low humidity. The differences in climate are striking due to the diversity of rain and the remoteness of large areas from the sea. Precipitation is generally low. Monsoon brings a unique character to the season in Pakistan.

1. Winter (November to February)

2. Summer season (March to June)

3. Rainy Season or Rainy Season (July to October)

considering various climatic factors, Pakistan can be divided into the following climatic zones:

1. Subtropical continental highlands

The region includes mountain ranges north and west of the Indus Plain. Winters in the area are cold and long, with temperatures often dropping below freezing. Snow remains on the higher peaks throughout the year.
But summers here are cool and short-lived. The mountainous areas in the northwest receive less rainfall than the mountainous regions in the northeast. Due to low rainfall in South Kohat and Waziristan, the Quetta region of Baluchistan has a dry climate with average annual rainfall not exceeding 50–100 mm. It occurs mainly in winter and spring. The northwestern highlands have dry rock formations with little fertility and no natural vegetation. Light rains in winter and spring encourage the growth of grass and shrubs, which is beneficial for sheep and goat farming.

2. Types of subtropical continental plateau

This region occupies the northwestern part of Baluchistan province. Winters here are cold, summer temperatures are quite high, and dust storms are frequent. Although it is larger, the lack of rainfall has turned it into a desert. Rainwater in this area is scarce and less than 25 cm. Although it occurs every year, some parts of the region receive little rainfall. Nokundi measures only 1.95 inches or 5 cm. Precipitation is annual, rain falls most often in January and February.

3. Subtropical continental low lands

This region includes the hinterland of Punjab and Sindh provinces. It generally has a dry and extreme climate. Summers here are long and hot, but winters are cold and short. Some of the most popular places in the country include Jacobabad and Sibbi.

The rainy season starts in mid-summer. In areas close to the Plemont region, rainfall is sufficient. The Sialkot is about 30 inches (88.3 cm) long. Annual rainfall. However, the western part of this plain receives very little rainfall and is drier than the eastern part. Tal and Cholistan deserts in Punjab and Nara and Tharparker deserts in Sindh.

4. Tropical coastal areas

The region includes Karachi and the coastal belt along the Makran coast of Balochistan. Temperatures here are moderate due to the influence of the sea. Precipitation amounts to about 7 inches or 18 cm. Although it happens every year, its proximity to the ocean leaves a lot of moisture in the air. The effects of daytime sea breezes are felt throughout the summer.
